South Africa Grant Schedule 2026-2027 Released – SASSA Increases Payments Across Key Support Programmes

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has officially announced the dates for social grant payments for the 2026/2027 financial year. The National Treasury gave its approval. The announcement makes things clear for millions of people who depend on monthly support.

SASSA says that grant payments will still be made on a staggered schedule each month to make it easier to get the money and make it easier to get to. Most of the time, older people will get their grants on the second day of the month, people with disabilities will get theirs on the third day, and kids will get theirs on the fourth day.

The agency stressed that payment scheduling takes a number of things into account to make things run more smoothly. Payments are not made on the first of the month, on Mondays, or right after a public holiday.

The confirmed payment schedule starts in April 2026. Older people will get their money on April 2, people with disabilities will get theirs on April 7, and children will get theirs on April 8.

Payments will happen from May 5 to 7, 2026, and from June 2 to 4, 2026.

The pattern stays the same all year, so payment cycles will be predictable and steady until March 2027.

In addition to payment dates, SASSA also confirmed that grant amounts will go up starting in April 2026, as was said during the national budget speech.
